Anyone sitting in a tractor all day has plenty of time to think. When Jürgen took over the farm, he gave up breeding bulls and set up a contracting business—where there used to be animals, there are now machines. Worn down by economic constraints, societal expectations, and strokes of fate, the single father continues working each and every day. He says, “Every dad in farming wants his son to take over one day.” But what if the son is sick?
