At one of the most committed political film festivals in Germany, the Film Festival Turkey Germany in Nuremberg, there were many exciting films as well as a reunion with many HoF hits. Together with the actors Nilüfer Açıkalın, Şenay Gürler and Tolga Tekin as well as Hüseyin Tabak – winner of the GRANIT Hof Documentary Film Award for THE LEGEND OF THE UGLY KING – HoF artistic director Thorsten Schaumann was on this year's feature film jury under jury president Alexander Bohr.
The short film jury included filmmaker Tini Tüllmann. At the 50th Hof International Film Festival, the director received the first Heinz Badewitz Award for her feature film FREDDY/EDDY. Also present was actress Süheyla Ünlü, who was in Hof in 2019 with Suli Kurban's HAYAT.
The short film program included Can Merdan Doğan's STILETTO: “A PINK FAMILY TRAGEDY” (which received the Third Prize), Jürgen Heimüller's BETTER HALF, and the winner of the first Audience Short Film Award of the City of Hof Cengiz Akaygün’s AYSHA.
