On Monday, 17 April 2023 at 6:30 pm, LAST ROUND (56th Hof International Film Festival 2022) by Elizaveta Snagovskaia will be screened at the Central Kino in Hof as part of the HoF Filmtage Rendezvous series. In her documentary, the director deals with the often underestimated social drug alcohol in an intense way that takes the audience emotionally.
After the screening, there will be an audience discussion with the producer of the film, Nicole Leykauf / Leykauf Film, who comes from Hof, and the addiction counselor of the Diakonie Hochfranken, Christiane Rothemund. The discussion will be moderated by the artistic director of the Hof International Film Festival, Thorsten Schaumann.

About the film
In Germany and Russia, people drink the same amount of pure alcohol: ten liters per capita per year. Two Germans and two Russians are “functioning” young alcoholics. All four are trying to stop drinking. Drinking, however, is so woven into our everyday lives that we no longer even notice it: As long as we function, we drink. And as long as we drink, we function. How can we break out of this vicious circle?
