Sebastian Peterson's THE RIGHT OF THE STRONG (56. Hof International Film Festival) can be seen in German cinemas from Thursday, 20 April 2023.
A car bomb explodes in front of a Berlin cinema where the premiere of an Israeli film is taking place. The assassin is Jana, 18 - she herself dies in the attack. The only clue to her motive is Jana's vlog on social media. It shows what Jana's everyday life is like: She works in a workshop for the disabled and passes the time with social networks, where she makes provocative posts under various fake accounts.
This is how she comes into contact with a right-wing group. These people are very different from what she imagined: they discuss a lot and do exciting things all the time. Because of her many followers, Jana immediately has a certain status. With every meeting, she identifies more and more - their political views become more and more extreme, their joint actions more and more daring.
THE RIGHT OF THE STRONG shakes things up, asks the right questions and "...impresses with its realistic, raw production." (kinokino).
