MY PLACE IS HERE at "Bühne raus" (Open Air Event)

On Saturday, July 12th, 2025 at 8:30 PM, the next Hofer Filmtage Rendezvous will feature the novie MY PLACE IS HERE – IL MIO POSTO È QUI (58th Hof International Film Festival 2024/HIFF) by Daniela Porto and Cristiano Bortone at the open-air event "bühne raus" in the Hofer Schiller Quartier. The screening will be in the Italian original version with German subtitles. Director Daniela Porto will be present and will lead an audience discussion moderated by the Artistic Director of HIFF, Thorsten Schaumann, after the film.

The main actors Ludovica Martino and Marco Leonardi, known among other roles for his portrayal of the young protagonist in CINEMA PARADISO, will take us to Italy after the end of World War II.

Marta (Ludovica Martino), a spirited and life-hungry single mother who was once promised to an older farmer, discovers a new world through her friendship with Lorenzo (Marco Leonardi), the village’s openly gay and charming wedding planner. In the heart of conservative Southern Italy, Lorenzo introduces her to a hidden community of free spirits. There, Marta finds the courage to stand up for a self-determined life. When women’s suffrage is introduced the following year, a time of great change, hope, and new beginnings unfolds.
