Cinema brings people together. To enable as many visitors as possible to experience the films at the Hof International Film Festival together, the GRETA app will be used for selected screenings for the first time at this year’s anniversary edition.
The GRETA app provides accessible film experiences with audio description for blind and visually impaired people, subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, and audio amplification. The content is played in sync with the film via each user’s own smartphone, allowing everyone to enjoy the same screening together. The app can also be used with selected films available through the HoF On Demand service.
Films compatible with the GRETA app are already available online. They are marked with the GRETA symbol in both the catalogue and the festival app. (GRETA symbol image?)
By introducing the GRETA app, the Hof International Film Festival is helping to break down barriers and make the festival accessible to more people. After all, cinema is at its most powerful when as many people as possible can experience stories together.
