Thorsten Schaumann on the Jury of the ‚shorts film festival‘

Thorsten Schaumann, Artistic Director of the International Hofer Film Festival, joins the Fiction Jury of the shorts film festival alongside Urte Zindler, Pepe Danquart, and Max Disbeaux — the tri-national student film festival hosted by Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. 

From Tuesday, April 21 to Friday, April 24, 2026, Offenburg will once again become a vibrant meeting place for emerging cinematic voices from Germany, France, and Switzerland. On the big screen at FORUM Cinemas Offenburg, students present their films — bold, personal, and full of vision. 

The Fiction Jury honors outstanding works in the categories Best Short Fiction Film, Best Medium-Length Film, and Best Animated Film. Together with the Documentary and Sound juries, further awards will be presented, including the Offenburg University Award, the City of Offenburg Freedom Award, the Jury Special Award, and the award for Best Cinematography. Each prize is endowed with €1000. 

The emotional highlight of the festival is the award ceremony on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
