The grandmother having died, mother and daughter reunite after years and for the first time talk about the daughter’s early childhood in a weekday home. The GDR made “equal rights” for women possible by establishing weekday homes where children from the age of six weeks until six years were looked after. This chapter of GDR history has never been dealt with. This film is intended to be a beginning.

“It is important to me to work through this chapter of East German history. It's about understanding where we come from and who we are today. It's about voices that have never been heard before. It's about the victims of the GDR weekday homes and acknowledgment of what happened to them.”
