"... The ship we are on today is now sailing into the shoreless, the open sea and you ask where to? I'm just a sailor… ” Schiff 1931 / Joachim Ringelnatz
March 2020: The pandemic was spreading and the country went silent. Dance halls were empty, clubs closed, theater and cinema screenings became rare, music festivals were canceled, event technicians swept their halls, and the battle against bureaucratic hurdles had long since begun. For my friend Guenther and me - filmmakers and musicians ourselves - many things changed, and we asked ourselves anew the question of the meaning of artistic creation.
The film takes us on a journey. The very personal narrative is shaped by the stories and life paths of our artist-friends and their artistic creations and the pros and cons of the crisis. It establishes a connection between the artists and the audience, talks about the happiness of a creative life and shows us that there can be a way out of the crisis.
