For centuries, the wolf has been considered a beast. With its return to the German forests, something threatening is nesting in the increasingly deserted landscapes. Panic also afflicts Ulf Winkler, an unsuccessful real estate agent, when he finds himself trapped in the middle of an abandoned property in Brandenburg by a pack of wolves that gradually turn him into one of them. Soon the question arises whether perhaps he, the human, is the beast after all.

“SESSHAFT is a werewolf film, but somehow different, more real and completely without creature and silver. A social critique in the guise of a thriller that interprets society as a cage from which one needs to escape, often making us doubt where we came from and where we should go. The critique is of man’s unnatural, learned sedentariness which can never quite ignore the urgent call of freedom and wilderness.”
