RICARDO ET LA PEINTURE is Barbet Schroeder's portrait of his friend, the painter Ricardo Cavallo, who has devoted his life to painting. From Buenos Aires to Finistère, via Paris and Peru, this film is not only an invitation to delve into the history of painting but also to discover the life of an extraordinary man who, with simplicity and humility, has always been fully committed, even passing on his passion to the children of his village.

Born in 1941 in Tehran/Iran. Grew up in Colombia and France. Studied Philosophy at the Sorbonne. Worked as a film critic, later as a director’s assistant. Active as a director, screenwriter and producer.
