“Perhaps at the end of the ‘AI revolution’ there will be a new being, a homo deus. Different parts of the brain are active already, and smartphones are becoming inseparable extensions of the human body. We know that algorithms influence our decisions. We accept that our private lives are becoming more transparent, and our judgements are no longer based on ‘experience’ but instead on ‘information’ whose sources we can verify only approximately or not at all. We are all in one boat that has picked up irreversible speed. What can happen, happens. ‘What is a human being,’ and what constitutes humanity? Is ‘love’ the divine spark that makes us unique – or is it simply a biochemical reaction in our brains that we will be able to simulate in future? FALTER tells the story of metamorphosis from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.”
