The film is an intense drama about two and a half couples. Three girlfriends and two men meet with different intentions and have to realize just how little they really know about each other. On the beautiful island of Mallorca, the ugly truth reveals itself. No one actually wants that, it just happens. The house of cards collapses. How much do we deceive each other? Why doesn’t anyone want to fail or admit mistakes? What, if a mother doesn’t want to be one? And what if, in the end, everything doesn’t turn out fine?

“House of Cards is a project close to my heart, filmed by creative friends from ‘BiK Pictures’.
After our first joint project, Glücklich, won 1st place at the 99 Fire Film Award, the prize money was invested in the realization of a feature film.
For me, it is incredibly fascinating to observe what friendship can accomplish. The long process that an independently funded film goes through, where no one gets paid for their work and where the currency is friendship, trust, and pride in the result, is a unique experience.
House of Cards is a film about friendship which, however, somehow cannot exist when everybody involved keeps their fears of failure, setbacks, and nonconformity to themselves. I am thrilled to share this special story with you.”
