The shared currywurst with his buddy, Max, abruptly ends the stagnation in which Casper's biography threatens to lose itself. The news from Max is that Casper's screenplay, Bond's Daughter, has apparently been filmed and is now even nominated for the European Film Award in Reykjavik, Iceland, but Casper's name as the author has been replaced by that of his ex-girlfriend, Justine Laser.

In search of the truth, Casper embarks on a journey to Iceland with his friend Max, and despite some adversities, the two decide not to let themselves be shaken off.

TOD MEINER JUGEND, Spielfilm

“In Hochstapler und Ponies, Casper learns that his screenplay has been adapted into a film, but that his name as the author has been replaced by that of his ex-girlfriend. Casper sets out on a journey in the hope of restoring his inner balance. But what has he done to deserve this? He always acted with loyalty and integrity, didn't he?

A mashup of pop culture from our society serves as a mirror to understand our current state and to explore Casper's true values and desires. The film illustrates what pride and selfishness can destroy and serves as a poignant reminder of personal values in life. It encourages us to perceive our shortcomings as something perfectly acceptable. The film promotes a deeper understanding of what it means to be human and to accept the significance of constant change within that reality.”
