As a self-employed journalist, the 30-something travels the world with her best friend Mark to publish their experiences in blogs. The two live from hand to mouth, the journey is the destination, and there’s not supposed to be a tomorrow anyway. But then Mark meets Vivian and everything changes abruptly!
This dramedy of the finest kind about the hesitant coming of age brings us BESTFRIENDS / MEJORESAMIGOS (world premiere at the 48th Hof International Film Festival) for an enjoyable evening at the cinema. Also joining us are Wiebke and Johannes Thomsen, the operators of Hanover’s » Lodderbast and hosts of our Filmtage late night show GASTHoF. At the beginning of the Rendezvous, the two will tell us what they are currently showing in their virtual cinema, which they launched in March 2020.

Since 2017, the Hof International Film Festival has been organizing the HoF Rendezvous under the motto “let’s do it again” at the Central Kino in Hof and since 2018 at the Lodderbast in Hanover too. These are screenings organized throughout the year as part of the Hof International Film Festival. The filmmakers also present their films in person. By doing this, we allow the festival to have further impact and increase the anticipation for the next festival edition. And at the same time, the filmmakers are promoted once again through our communication channels.
The HoF Rendezvous currently takes place online and live with an audience chat in the virtual Central Kino with the support of the Rotary Club Hof as well as Kino on Demand.
