    Into the darkness 03

One year ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his war of aggression on Ukraine. Against this background, the short film INTO THE DARKNESS by Mariia Shevchenko (56th Hof International Film Festival) will be shown at the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts on Friday, 24 February 2023 at 7:00 pm. After the film there will be an audience discussion with the director as well as the filmmaker Philip Gröning. See also announcements in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Mucbook.

Equipped with a camera and bulletproof vests, Mariia Shevchenko and cameraman Sashko Brama go right into the heart of darkness shortly after the start of the Russian war of aggression: to the front.

"We have tried to create a film that makes it possible to experience the reality of life in war."
