On Thursday, 22 June 2023, the documentary THE SCARS OF ALI BOULALA (56th Hof International Film Festival) directed by Max Eriksson is released in German cinemas.
Ali Boulala is 16 and the skateboarding world is his oyster. The Swedish prodigy snags a sponsorship from Flip Skateboards that takes him to LA, among other places, at the height of the '90s skate craze. He spends his days honing new tricks for DIY videos and hanging out with a group of precocious teenage pros who celebrate him for his charisma and punky style. But the joys of the rollicking touring life take their toll, leading to a tragic accident that will change Ali's life forever.
