On Saturday, 29 June 2024, the first Christopher Street Day will take place in Hof under the patronage of Mayor Eva Döhla. Around this day, there will be numerous events during this colorful week from Sunday, 23 June to Sunday, 30 June 2024. The Hof International Film Festival (HOF IFF) will be present with three film events. The focus will be on the never-ending fight for physical and sexual self-determination.
On Sunday, 23 June 2024 at 5 p.m., the short films PATRICIA IN THE DARK (57th HOF IFF 2024) by Laura Hartley and ANGELIQUE by Elisabeth Kratzer, for which the director received the Short Film Award of the City of Hof at the 56th HIFF edition, will be shown. After the screening, there will be a discussion with director Elisabeth Kratzer and her protagonist Angelique Nagel, moderated by HOF IFF Artistic Director Thorsten Schaumann.
On the following Monday, 24 June 2024 at 7 pm, director Clarissa Eysell will present her film MY BODY, MY SOUL (57th HOF IFF 2024) followed by a discussion about the movie together with the audience and Thorsten Schaumann.
QUEER EXILE BERLIN (57th HIFF 2024) will be presented to the audience in the presence of filmmaker Jochen Hick on 26 June 2024. Andreas Hahn, one of the co-organizers of the CSD in Hof, will guide through the evening and talk to Hick about is movie.
The week is initiated by Queer Life Hof e.V. and funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal "Live Democracy!" program. The city has been participating in the federal program as a local partnership for democracy since 2015. The HOF IFF's contribution is also funded by this program and for that it is possible to invite directors as well as protagonists and have the performances accompanied by the artistic direction.
