With HoF NEXT, the Hof International Film Festival opens the doors of film culture to a younger audience. Our goal is to give young people, especially those under 18, direct and relatable access to socially relevant topics through cinema.
As a long-standing festival with international reach, we are committed to actively including children and teenagers in cultural life. Because cultural participation should not depend on age or background—it should be a given.
What can you expect from HoF NEXT?
A curated selection of festival films suitable for younger audiences, rated in collaboration with the Bavarian Media Evaluation Board. Key topics include democracy, diversity, the environment, equality, and identity, all presented through moderated screenings, discussions with filmmakers, and interactive dialogue formats. This turns cinema into a space for reflection, engagement, and exchange.
This initiative is not only aimed at young individuals but also directly addresses schools, youth centers, and educational institutions, helping to anchor the project sustainably beyond traditional cinema structures.
Who is HoF NEXT for?
All young people aged 12 to 17, whether as school classes, youth groups, or individual visitors. Teachers, educators, and youth workers are also warmly invited to use HoF NEXT as a meaningful educational format.
Our goal?
To establish HoF NEXT as a lasting part of cultural and civic education in Hof and the surrounding region.
