Internship in Festival Organization / HoF NEXT – Cinema for the Young Generation

The International Hofer Filmtage is one of Germany’s most renowned film festivals. With HoF NEXT – Cinema for the Young Generation, a new section is being launched that specifically targets young audiences and showcases cinematic content for the next generation. Duration:

01 August 2025 to 31 October 2025 (paid)

Location:

Hof (Upper Franconia), with remote work possible before and after the festival by arrangement

Your tasks:

• Support the organizational management in planning and implementing the HoF NEXT section,
• Communicate with the film selection team and coordinate internal workflow,
• Oversee the age rating processes in collaboration with the Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft (FSK) for selected films,
• Conduct target group analysis and definition in collaboration with the festival management,
• Develop and implement communication strategies tailored to young audiences,
• Support editorial work for the website, social media channels, and newsletters,
• Assist on-site during the festival (e.g., guest support, admissions, audience communication),
• Help design events and supporting programs for young audiences,
• Document and follow up on activities for evaluation and further development of the section.

What you bring:

• Interest in film, cultural events, and youth communication,
• strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude,
• Ability to work in a team, reliability, and enthusiasm for varied tasks,
• Experience with social media and digital communication is a plus,
• Willingness to work intensively before and during the festival,
• confident use of standard MS Office programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint),
• English proficiency (spoken and written).
