KINOLEBEN – ABOUT TÜBINGEN’S ARSENAL AND OTHER ARTHOUSE CINEMAS
(59th Hof International Film Festival 2025 – HIFF/Arsenal Filmverleih) stops at the Casablanca Filmkunsttheater Nuremberg.
The director Goggo Gensch and Stefan Paul from Arsenal (Award oft he City of Hof 2023) look forward to an audience discussion following the screening. The talk will be moderated by Thorsten Schaumann, HIFF’s Artistic Director.
The film is currently on tour and will officially open nationwide on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
KINOLEBEN is a journey through the history of German arthouse cinemas, told through the story of the ARSENAL in Tübingen — a journey closely connected to HIFF. It is both a tribute to the cinema as a vital cultural and social meeting place and a reflection on a pressing question: What is the future of cinemas that program beyond the mainstream?
A question we can explore together — especially at Casablanca, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Many good reasons to (re-)unite. Many good reasons for KINOLEBEN.
