SI STAR Emerging Director Award for WHERE THE WAVES TOOK HER

Congratulations to Jana Stallein! Her film WHERE THE WAVES TOOK HER (59th Hof International Film Festival 2025) received the SI STAR Emerging Director Award during the 76th Berlinale. 

The film was discovered at the Hof International Film Festival and subsequently nominated for the SI STAR – we are thrilled about this wonderful success! 

The SI (Soroptimist International) STAR Film Award for outstanding women directors was established in 2015 by seven media professionals from the SI Club Mainz. Its mission is to strengthen the presence of women in front of and behind the camera, promote more diverse teams within the film industry, and support new role models as well as diverse stories and perspectives on screen. The award is presented every two years during the Berlinale.
