The film tells the story of a couple dealing with a tragedy in very different ways. Although the event happened many years ago, it remains omnipresent for the two main characters and has shaped their lives ever since.
Now they have reached a point where they have to decide whether to stay together.

“I’ve been intrigued by the idea of shooting an improvisational film for quite a while. In my opinion, that is only possible if you have absolute confidence in your cast. The actresses and actors, on the other hand, need to have the feeling of being completely protected by the director. [...] Improvising can be quite risky, like walking a tightrope without a net, and all people involved need to let themselves in for this experience. That doesn’t always work out as planned. But with our two leads, Janna Striebeck and Joachim Raaf, with whom I’ve successfully worked for quite some time, I was convinced that we could venture into those uncharted waters without knowing where the journey would take us.
