Barberie Bichette, to her great annoyance called Barbie, may have once been beautiful, loved, a good mother to her children, a dependable colleague, a great lover – yes, maybe she was. But that was before she inevitably turned 55 (and soon even older!). Now, things are getting darker, sometimes violent, and often absurd. How is she supposed to handle herself, others, and life in general – now, as an older woman?

Filmography

“When we learned, at the same time as our mother did, that she would not be able to finish her film she had just completed shooting, she asked us, her children – in agreement with her producer, Julie Salvador – to supervise post-production, starting with the editing alongside François Quiqueré, who was about to work with her for the first time. We therefore respected her wishes, setting off for the editing room almost a month after her passing, and the three of us found ourselves faced with the rushes of a film that we hadn’t made, although we did have notes and invaluable indications that we had collected at the hospital while talking to her about her film and her intentions.”
