On Thursday, 15 April 2021 at 3:30 pm CET, the #oF NEXT film series organized with the Schiller Gymnasium Hof will take place virtually for the first time. The free event is always open to all interested Hof students. The short film GRRRL by Natascha Zink, which celebrated its world premiere at the last Hof International Hof Film Festival, will be shown. After the film, the director and all participating students will discuss the film in an online conversation:

Zoe is part of a group of women who travel around at night to bring women home safely. In doing so, they are also willing to use violence. One evening Zoe’s friend comes back beaten up from a night action – talking to her brother, Zoe realizes that he seems to have been involved in the situation...

“With the #oF NEXT online school screening, we are taking another logical step towards the digital future together with the Schiller Gymnasium. Our virtual experiences in recent months have shown that in these times we can overcome distances with alternative screening models and thus create cinema experiences. I’m really looking forward to a great afternoon at the cinema.”

    Thorsten Schaumann
Artistic Director of the Hof International Film Festival

The #oF NEXT screening series specifically addresses the “next generation of cinema”. Festival films are shown, followed by a discussion with the director. The Schiller Gymnasium is a partner in this event, which is open to all Hof students, also because of its focus on comprehensive and necessary media education. #oF NEXT gives young people the opportunity to discover exciting films from the festival program and learn more about film as an art form.

The screening is free of charge. Participation age for the screening on 15 April 2021 is 14 years and older. Underage participants must have written permission. For further legal details, please contact the supervising film teacher StR Sebastian Schumann at the Schiller Gymnasium Hof.
