HoF Rendezvous with IF NOT NOW, THAN WHEN…? and THE BLACK SQUARE

On Monday, 19 September 2022 at 7:30 pm the screening series HoF Rendezvous in cooperation with VR-Bank Bayreuth-Hof eG will take place at Capitol-Kino Plauen.

The short film IF NOT NOW, THAN WHEN…? by Jens Rosemann and the opening film of the 55th Hof International Film Festival THE BLACK SQUARE by Peter Meister, which was awarded the German Cinema New Talent Award as well as the Hof Critics Prize, will be shown. Both directors will be on site and available for an audience discussion after the screening. The event will be moderated by Thorsten Schaumann, artistic director of the Hof International Film Festival.

The art thiefs Vincent and Nils are close to their goal: In their cruiseship cabin lies the 60 million dollar painting "The Black Square", which they are to hand over to their client on board. Before that though, they have only one small unforeseen appointment on the ship's show stage. Meanwhile, unknown persons seize the opportunity and steal the painting. A series of unforeseen turbulences follows and the noose around the crook duo tightens...

Since 2017, the Hof International Film Festival has organized the HoF Rendezvous under the motto "Let’s do it again" in various cinemas. These are screenings that present films of the Hof International Film Festival throughout the year. The filmmakers present their films in person. In this way, the festival can have a lasting effect and increase the anticipation for the next edition of the festival. At the same time, the makers are once again pushed via the festival’s communication channels.

The 56th Hof International Film Festival will take place from 25-30 October 2022 plus7streamdays with films on demand throughout Germany.
