Dominik Graf turns 70

    Dominik graf

Dominik Graf recently provided a sensational moral painting with the award-winning Kästner film adaptation FABIAN ODER DER GANG VOR DIE HUNDE, another milestone in his remarkable and more than diverse filmography. Today, the filmmaker turns 70 years old.

For many decades, he has had a very close and almost loving relationship with the Hof International Film Festival (IHF). Dominik Graf made his cinema debut in 1982 with DAS ZWEITE GESICHT (16th IHF) and enriched the HoF – Home of Films family like no other.

I endured my film in Hof twice in full agonizing length. [...] In order to earn my living as a director at all, I would still have to practice an awful lot.

    Dominik Graf
    about THE SECOND FACE

These are words from the director who has always captivated and surprised us with his filmmaking ever since. Be it the gripping series IM ANGESICHT DES VERBRECHENS or the still legendary anniversary crime scene FRAU BU LACHT (29th IHF). Whether THE INVISIBLE GIRL or the documentary about porcelain industrialist PHILIP ROSENTHAL – DER UNTERNEHMER, DER NICHT AN DEN KAPITALISMUS GLAUBTE (51st IHF) together with Martin Gressmann.

Dear Dominik, we look forward to welcoming you to Hof again and again and thank you for your constant support. Happy birthday!
