HoF Filmtage Rendezvous in Plauen

    BABA KUSH - Still 1

On Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30 PM, the HoF Rendezvous film series, in cooperation with VR Bank Bayreuth-Hof eG, will take place at the Capitol-Kino Plauen. Two films that ran at the 58th Hof International Film Festival will be shown.

The screening will begin with the short film “Shut Up and Suffer” by Emma Bading. The sci-fi short, which received the Hof City Jury Short Film Prize, critically engages with the topic of abortion. In the film, non-terrestrial beings Ryk and Nono are sent to Earth and, in attempting to perform an abortion, become entangled in the complexities of German abortion laws.

Following this, the feature film “Baba Kush” by Leon Kluth will be shown. The film is a coming-of-age chamber drama about two teenagers who smoke a joint in an old phone booth and get caught by the police. A film about friendship, life paths, opportunities, and decisions.

The evening will be moderated by Thorsten Schaumann, Artistic Director of the HIFF.
