Teenagers Max and Uli are old friends and hang out together. When they discover a lonely phone booth, the crowning glory of the evening is clear: hotboxing! But the joint is hardly lit, when a police patrol turns up.
Panicked, the boys barricade themselves in the phone booth. But the officers don’t even think about leaving. They lie in wait, they have time, they call for reinforcements. The escalation of the police quickly becomes a test of endurance for the trapped youths. And the more the night wears on, the more Max and Uli realize that they aren’t really friends any longer.

“Two actors, one location – that was the task we set ourselves. Although no one on the team had attended film school, we wanted to show that it is possible to make original films in this country without extensive logistical and financial resources. The result is this coming-of-age drama that takes place (almost) exclusively in a telephone booth. A movie about friendship, roads of life, opportunities, and decisions. And about the curious blossoms of cannabis criminalization and the question of which door to go through when all doors stand wide open.
Mainly, however, the film is a journey through the night, an approach to growing up, a leap into the deep end. And for us, as a team, it is above all an opportunity to present ourselves: German cinema has many faces. This is ours.”
