On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 8:00 PM, the Würzburg Cinema Central at Bürgerbräu will screen ZWISCHEN UNS (Between Us/55.Hof International Film Festival 2021-HIFF/distributed by Wildbunch Germany) as part of the DIS/ABILITY series in cooperation with HIFF.
The special event will be moderated by Fabian Riemen (HIFF moderator and faculty member at the Department of Special Education at the University of Würzburg) and Thomas Spaett.
ZWISCHEN UNS is a sensitive and powerful portrayal of an extraordinary mother-son relationship. Eva (Liv Lisa Fries) and her 13-year-old autistic son Felix (Jona Eisenblätter) are inseparable.
While the shy Felix suffers from anxiety and rage attacks and repeatedly runs away from school, Eva fights with all her strength for a stable and harmonious life together. Trust and connection are only a heartbeat away. A story about life and letting go... about a new beginning.
With ZWISCHEN UNS, Max Fey presents his debut film, which he co-wrote with Michael Gutmann. The film features performances by Liv Lisa Fries, Jona Eisenblätter, Thure Lindhardt, Lena Urzendowsky, and Corinna Harfouch.
