    Über Unterbiberger - Still 15

With the HoF Filmtage Rendezvous screening series, the Hofer International Film Festival (HIFF) come to Kulturtheater Tutzing for the first time on Saturday, April 25 – a special collaboration that connects film culture and creates spaces for meaningful encounters.

At 07.30 pm will be screened the opening film of the 59th HIFF 2025: ÜBER UNTERBIBERGER(tickets here), directed by Matthias Ditscherlein – an exclusive premiere that immerses audiences in the equally moving and sonorous world of the band of the same name.

Following the screening, a Q&A with HIFF‘s artistic director, Thorsten Schaumann, invites the audience to gain insights behind the scenes.

“Musical journeys around the world and a captivating family portrait.” (Udo Watter / Süddeutsche Zeitung)

From Tutzing to international stages– a cinematic experience that invites true togetherness.

Note: Band member Ludwig Himpsl will be a guest at Kulturtheater Tutzing on Saturday, June 20, together with Ricardo Volkert & Ensemble!

Kulturtheater Tutzing is a volunteer-run community cinema and a cultural meeting place in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg, which resumed operations in autumn 2024 in the historic former Kurtheater. Run as a non-profit association, it offers not only film screenings but also a platform for stage performances and educational programs.

HoF Filmtage Rendezvous – this special screening series by the HIFF brings selected films from past festival editions back to the big screen – vibrant, approachable, and in direct exchange with audiences. Often accompanied by the filmmakers themselves and moderated by HIFF‘s artistic director Thorsten Schaumann, these evenings create experiences that go far beyond traditional film screenings.

The Rendezvous series stops at selected cinemas such as Central Kino Hof, KoKi Hannover, and Capitol Kino Plauen – and expands its network this year to include Kulturtheater Tutzing and the Rentei in Stockheim for the first time.

In this way, the HIFF provides a year-round platform for outstanding films and their creators, strengthening their visibility well beyond the festival itself.
