HoF Nominations at the Oscars and German Film Critics Awards

What a success! With a box office of USD 120 million, KOKUHO by Lee Sang-il has become the most successful Japanese live-action film of all time in Japan. Already celebrated at its German premiere at the 59th Hof International Film Festival (HIFF), the next highlight has now followed: KOKUHO has been nominated for an Oscar at the 98th Academy Awards in the category ‚Best Makeup and Hairstyling‘! 

HoF films are also strongly represented at the German Film Critics Awards 2025, with three films from the 58 HIFF 2024 competing in the following categories: 

Best Debut Feature:

RAUMTEILER – Florian Schmitz 

Best Documentary Film:

NONKONFORM – Arne Körner 

Best Production Design:
