The Unspoken
For the film THE UNSPOKEN, we conducted interviews with the last living contemporary witnesses of the Nazi era, focusing on those who were involved at the time, the followers and accomplices of the regime. Almost no one from this generation ever spoke about that time after 1945; in German families, the subject was taboo—the unspoken.

Born in Freiburg im Breisgau, grew up in Paris. Studied Cultural Studies in Hildesheim, Film Studies in San Francisco and Directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin.

The film provides deep, emotional, but also controversial, unsettling, and disturbing insight into a German collective subconscious that has been repressed for a long time. The film encourages critical reflection and discussion, including highly explosive connections to the present day.”
