Simone Massi 1970 (Pergola) is an acclaimed Italian animator, director, and illustrator, renowned for his mastery of "stop-motion" animation and his poetic, handcrafted style. He has won a David di Donatello, four Nastri d’Argento, and over 900 awards worldwide, making him one of the most celebrated figures in contemporary Italian and European animation. His works are characterized by the use of oil pastels on paper, scratched with engraving tools to create evocative imagery. Massi's films have been showcased at major festivals, including the Venice Film Festival, where his artistic contributions, such as animated opening sequences, have gained widespread recognition. Alessandro Ingeria
Alessandro Ingaria 1976 (Ceva) is a director, audiovisual artist, and mayor, recognized as a finalist at the Goya Awards and Nastri d’Argento. He won the National Cinema Prize in 2018 with The Arithmetic of the Wolf. A journalist and photographer, he has covered crises in Latin America, Africa, and Afghanistan, collaborating with outlets like Peacereporter. A lecturer at the Buster Keaton Lab in Genoa, he also leads Geronimo Carbonò, promoting socio-cultural projects. His works include Winter Love (Goya 2017) and The Body of the World (Nastri d’Argento 2024).
