Sturla and Alma are torn between their attraction to one another and their differences. Sturla has lost his foothold after dropping out of his studies and Alma is enjoying a carefree life on the Lofoten Islands. Sturla comes to visit her. The unspoken seeps through the cracks and slowly ruptures their relationship. Thanks to their efforts to listen to each other, they eventually learn something about themselves through the other.
