We don’t need stars, we make them.

We have to announce the sad news that HEINZ BADEWITZ, founder and soul of the Hof International Film Festival, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

He died while doing what he loved most: looking for films, spotting new talents and talking with film makers. He passed away on March 10th, 2016, aged 74, while attending the “Diagonale – Festival of Austrian Film” in Graz.

Our greatest concern now is to carry on with his lifetime’s achievement and to make the 50th Hof International Film Festival happen in his spirit in October 2016. We grieve with his family. “Farewell, Heinz!”
