... on Sunday, 11 July 2021 at 8:00 pm at the last online live HoF Rendezvous in the virtual Central Cinema Hof before the summer break. Fortunately, our HoF colleague and the great artist » Gerti Baumgärtel will cheer us up during this “little farewell”. And of course, the director and producer of the short film, » Daniel von Bothmer will be there as well:

During his walk, blue Manfred meets an old acquaintance: red Raisin. Both are connected by a common past. A short film about friendship, transience and differences. “Just 4 minutes long, DER BLAUE MANFRED GEHT SPAZIEREN by Daniel von Bothmer is so trenchant and laced with bone-dry humor that it ‘will be remembered as a future classic.’” (Filmdienst).

The director and Gerti will provide humor in the subsequent film discussion. A little hint: we will be finished on time at 9:00 pm, just in time for the final match of the UEFA European Championship! After that, we’ll take our summer break!

HoF All Year Long and Around The World

The foundation stone of our series of online screenings was laid by our partner cinema Lodderbast in Hanover with its online cinema series. Inspired by this, the HoF Talk with the filmmakers Britta Schoening, Axel Ranisch and artistic director Thorsten Schaumann started on 21 November 2020. This was followed by film screenings in the HoF Rendezvous series in the virtual Central Cinema Hof.

HoF All Year Long and Around the World – a unique festival initiative! And one you can only find at the Home of Films:

  • 35 consecutive weekends,
  • with more than 80 guests, including the noble guests King and Queen Bansah,
  • 40 short and feature films,
  • several thousand euros for the filmmakers from the donation tickets,
  • more than 8,000 viewers worldwide, including from India, the USA, Great Britain, Turkey and Spain,
  • more than 2,600 minutes of live and interactive viewer participation,
  • with the support of » Kino on Demand, Central Cinema Hof and the Rotary Club Hof.

People greeted each other in the chat, had heated discussions and continued to talk "privately" on many evenings on Zoom. All this was only possible because HoF has the best audience in the world. Thank you very much for your loyalty!

Since 2017, the Hof International Film Festival has been organizing the HoF Rendezvous under the motto “let’s do it again” at the Central Cinema in Hof and at the Lodderbast in Hanover. These are screenings organized throughout the year as part of the Hof International Film Festival. The filmmakers also present their films in person. By doing this, we allow the festival to have further impact and increase the anticipation for the next festival edition. And at the same time, the filmmakers are promoted once again through our communication channels.

Since November 2020, the HoF Rendezvous takes place every weekend with the support of the Rotary Club Hof as well as Kino on Demand in the virtual Central Kino, online and live with an audience chat.

For those who would like to trace the festival’s history a little and prepare for this year's 55th edition, we recommend the » Exhibition 55 YEARS OF CHARM INSTEAD OF GLAMOUR - WHY THE HOF INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL DOESN’T NEED A RED CARPET in the Museum Bayerisches Vogtland in Hof. Until 7 November 2021, there’s a lot of exciting information, stories and exhibits about the festival to see at the exhibit. All of this is available through the Friends of the Hof International Film Festival. Become a » member now.
