In Nahrani in northern Afghanistan, development aid worker Carina Nowak and a German army troop fall into a Taliban trap. Only she and the young soldier Luca survive the ambush. Nowak is forced to face the consequences of her actions. She knows the insurgents' next target and does everything in her power to get there before they do. Luca, committed to Nowak's protection without knowing her true intentions, accompanies her. Their struggle against their helplessness and the Taliban's cruelty brings them both to their moral limits.
