Spring 1995: After the dissolution of the open drug scene in Zurich, 11-year-old Mia and her mother Sandrine move to a sleepy little town on the outskirts of Zurich. The initial idyll quickly ends when old friends turn up and Sandrine relapses. Mia takes refuge in a dream world and forges fantastic plans for an island life with her mother, far away from drugs. In a new clique of friends, Mia soon finds a kind of substitute family and, more and more, the strength to rebel against her dominating mother.
