MEETING JIM the whole Weekend and at the HoF Rendezvous

People from all over the world received the sad news of Jim Haynes’ death on 6 January 2021. He was the “godfather of social media networking” (The Guardian) and the man who invited the world to dinner. His doors were always open to everyone. Thousands entered his home and Jim enjoyed saying ‘thank you for coming’ to every single person who came or went. It didn’t matter to him if the guest was a big rock star or the mailman. Jim had one main goal in life: to introduce everyone around him to each other, believing that the world would become a better place if more people met and got to know each other.

On Sunday, 7 March 2021 at 8:00 (!) pm we will meet for Jim Dinner-Time two months after his death at a HoF Rendezvous with director Ece Ger and guests. Then we’ll watch MEETING JIM together: “A documentary as brilliant, accessible and likeable as it’s subject” (The Hollywood Reporter). For this, as Jim would have done, we invite the whole world!

For this special tribute weekend for Jim Haynes, BBC Scotland will again screen MEETING JIM (+ limited views via BBC iPlayer) on 6 March 2021 at 9 pm (GMT). Since 2017, the Hof International Film Festival has been organizing the HoF Rendezvous under the motto “let’s do it again” at the Central Kino in Hof and the Lodderbast in Hanover. These are screenings organized throughout the year as part of the Hof International Film Festival. The filmmakers also present their films in person. By doing this, we allow the festival to have further impact and increase the anticipation for the next festival edition. And at the same time, the filmmakers are promoted once again through our communication channels.

The HoF Rendezvous currently takes place live and online in the virtual Central Kino with audience chats and with the support of the Rotary Club Hof and Kino on Demand.
