Sports and the sofa are not necessaarily contradictions: because at the next online HoF Rendezvous things will be going up on high. Director Leri Matehha will present her feature film THOMAS THE HIGH JUMPER on Saturday, 20 February 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the virtual Central Kino Hof, and viewers will be able to watch from the comfort of their own homes:
Thomas, a young man, leads an isolated life with his mother in a sports boarding school, characterized by emotionless discipline and absolute devotion to the narcissistic coach. But the seemingly perfect life develops cracks that throw Thomas off his preconceived track. Leri Matehha creates over-stylish cinematic images that move us emotionally in unexpected ways. We will all talk about this together with the director after the film.
For Clubhouse users, there will be a 15-minute pre-screening talk with Leri Matehha and artistic director Thorsten Schaumann before the screening at 5:30 pm. And like last Saturday, all inclined "night owls" are invited to a small round in the private zoom talk after the official film talk.

Since 2017, the Hof International Film Festival has been organizing the HoF Rendezvous under the motto “let’s do it again” at the Central Kino in Hof and the Lodderbast in Hanover. These are screenings organized throughout the year as part of the Hof International Film Festival. The filmmakers also present their films in person. By doing this, we allow the festival to have further impact and increase the anticipation for the next festival edition. And at the same time, the filmmakers are promoted once again through our communication channels.
The HoF Rendezvous currently takes place live and online in the virtual Central Kino with audience chats and with the support of the Rotary Club Hof and Kino on Demand.
