Award ceremony Hof Gold Prize 2022

On Monday, 16 January 2023 at 7:00 pm CRASH will be screened at the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Director Karsten Dahlem received the Hof Gold Prize of the Friedrich Baur Foundation In Memory of Heinz Badewitz at the last Hof International Film Festival (IHF) for CRASH.

The prize for a first feature-length film of German production is quite unique: the award includes a year of mentoring and is endowed with a value of approximately € 35,000 in certified gold. The director, the jury, and the mentoring duo M+M, Marc Weis and Martin De Mattia, will be in attendance. Admission is free!

For years Chrissi (Anna Maria Mühe) has proven herself abroad, mastering cars as a stunt driver. After a serious accident, she returns to her childhood village and to her father (Michael Wittenborn). An unwanted imposed community develops between the two, putting their relationship to the test.

"Image design, editing and sound keep the film dense, inescapable and at the same time in a constant state of flux. The tense rhythms of silence and dialogue blend the construction into an organic narrative."
