Film series with Clemens Klopfenstein at the Werkstattkino in Munich

    Awards Clemens Klopfenstein

The first time Clemens Klopfenstein was at the Hof International Film Festival in 1981 was with E NACHT LANG FÜÜRLAND (co-directed with Remo Legnazzi). The film not only thrilled the audience, but was also the occasion and founding film of the renowned Pandora Film distribution. Most recently, the filmmaker was a jury member for the German Cinema New Talent Award at the 55th edition of the festival.

"Clemens Klopfenstein is considered the father of Swiss auteur cinema."

    Süddeutsche Zeitung

The Swiss universal artist is now a guest at the Werkstattkino in Munich: with selected films and an exhibition of his work, which will run from Thursday, 12 January 2023 to Wednesday, 18 January 2023. Clemens Klopfenstein will be present at all screenings, introduce the films and answer audience questions.

Even though Klopfenstein's work has already won the Berne and Swiss Film Awards (DAS SCHWEIGEN DER MÄNNER), has shot an episode of TATORT, and has worked with stars such as Bruno Ganz (WERANGSTWOLF), he is still regarded as an unconventional filmmaker who likes to realize his projects independently in a small team.
