MARTIN READS THE QURAN on the big screen

Jurijs Saule's debut feature film MARTIN READS THE QURAN sparked intense discussions during its German premiere at the 58th Hof International Film Festival. Now, the film, which already won the "Golden Lola 2022 for Best Unfilmed Script," will be released in German cinemas.

A likable family man with Iranian roots and a professor of Islamic studies. One invites the other for a conversation about faith and disbelief, good and evil, and the question of whether the commandments of the Koran can be reconciled with violence. What starts off seemingly harmlessly develops into a mental showdown when the professor realizes that his guest is planning an attack.
