For a long time, no one knew who the perpetrator was or what the motive for this crime was. Of course, there were some immediate suspicions, some of which turned out to be true. Such an event stays with you for a long time, and the idea of making a film about it grew stronger. […]
When I met Talha Akdeniz in 2020, I had the feeling that I had found the right actor for this project […], and we brought something from our collaboration in the project: sadness! Sadness is a political feeling, possibly even more political than anger.
We quickly agreed that we wanted to portray a character who isn’t so easy to identify, neither in terms of his sexuality nor his background.
