HoF 2021: The Team of TRÜMMERMÄDCHEN

TRÜMMERMÄDCHEN – DIE GESCHICHTE DER CLARA SCHUMANN by Oliver Kracht will be released in cinemas from Thursday, 24 March 2022 (Distribution: UCM.One). The film team with a terrific cast was celebrated by audiences at its world premiere during the 55th Hof International Film Festival and awarded with the Bild-Kunst Award and a Special Mention.

Germany, 1946: hunger, rubble, returning soldiers. Charlotte is pregnant, but her beloved returnee wants neither her nor his child. To win him over and escape the threat of disgrace, she enrolls in the "Fräulein Course" taught by actress Gloria Deven, who was an aspiring movie starlet under fascism and is now banned from working. But Gloria, with her merciless teaching, is not interested in reviving the girls' coquetry, which had become unnecessary during the war. Instead, she awakens in Lotte a longing for something that has been denied her for too long: Freedom.

"In actress Gloria's »Fräulein Course« five young, war-torn women learn emancipation - in a painful, entertaining and visually intoxicating way."

Süddeutsche Zeitung

"Not only, but especially in German cinema, they have become rare: Films that shatter, that break with narrative conventions and viewing habits and leave the audience with shards. In the best case, something new emerges from the fragments. Oliver Kracht's feature-length debut is one of them."
