On Wednesday, 13 November 2024, the cinema tour for WHO IS AFRAID OF HITLER’S TOWN? (57th Hof International Film Festival 2023 / HoF IFF) will kick off in German theaters. Joining the tour are director Günter Schwaiger, winner of the 2023 Hans Vogt Award of the City of Rehau, and producer Julia Mitterlehner. Both received the Franz Grabner Prize at the 2024 Diagonale festival in Graz for their documentary film.
The tour begins with a screening on 13 November 2023, at 6:15 pm at Monopol Kino in Munich, with Schwaiger and Mitterlehner in attendance, moderated by Thorsten Schaumann (Artistic Director HoF IFF).
WHO IS AFRAID OF HITLER’S TOWN? – A HOUSE AND THE PAST WITHIN US is described by El País critic Jacinto Antón as “a cinematic exorcism for Hitler’s birthplace.” The film delves into the exciting developments surrounding the future use of the Braunauian house where Hitler was born.
