Basilio lives in an abandoned villa in Sicily with his mysterious elderly mentor Casimir who is to help him find true poetry. In this villa, he tries to translate the symbols of his inner world into music. One day, Basilio meets equally strange Karla whose life already seems mysteriously intertwined with his. The symbolism of the world around them leads to an unexpected discovery.

“The way this film was made strangely mirrors the journey of our main character. The winding paths on which he seeks his artistic vision were the same as mine. Within a very short time, the material was written and a team was assembled, and over the course of the film’s shooting and editing, its story completely evolved anew several times. In the midst of the Corona pandemic, the entire crew lived in the beautiful Sicilian villa featured in this film. No extra hotel room was rented. We slept and ate there and filmed about 85 percent of the film in one place only. I also made significant changes to the scenes on location, improvising with the actors and exploring the villa. We merged with our mysterious abode. When I edited the film, I found myself increasingly intrigued by the mysteries the footage revealed. Originally planned with another actor, Denis Lavant joined us just two weeks before shooting began. All this led to the film developing its very own life.”
